That being said, this book is probably not a losing value position either, you should be able to get in five years, and probably ten years, what you pay for it today, unless the series remains completely red hot. Yes, Michonne is a hot commodity, but will that popularity hold on after the TV show vanishes? Tough to say, but I’m going to go with probably not. Looking long-term with this particular comic is a bit tough, because the popularity of the TV show is contributing to the inflated price for early issues. In addition, finding a copy with a vivid background color can be tougher. Regardless of what that price guide says, Michonne is still a hot commodity, but that could be due to the limited nature of WD 19 (and all the early issues of the Robert Kirkman masterpiece).
Raw ungraded books can be found in $150 to $250 value, but the CGC variety in 9.4 state sell for $250, 9.6 goes for around $350, and the coveted 9.8 will set you back around $450-$500 or more.
