I could be playing World of Warcraft, but it's just -so- tiresome dealing with the conventions of the day people can wander up to my creations on Pokrface's Creative server, and think to themselves "wtf?". #|_|#Īs you try to line up the edges between lakes, you seem to always run across Yet Another lake of lava, leading away at 90 degrees from the direction you're digging, increasing the overall 'edge area' of your plot by hundreds of blocks for each -one- block of distance you go a fools errand, but hey, Minecraft just fits the bill when it comes to mindless make-work. (That would eliminate the need to have a possibly non-updated mod) I don't know what the current view distance setting is on the server right now, but you might want to try increasing that first (temporarily) to see if that lets you see far enough. Obviously that would be less with only +25% or +50%.
It makes the server send 4x the number of chunks as default. I don't know about the memory requirements increasing much, but when I played around with the doubleviewa while ago I noticed that it was using up a noticeable amount of bandwidth even on a local network. It would increase RAM usage on a already RAM limited server.
Hell, I'd love at least +25% distance by default on the server, but fat chance.
ONE thing I really would like to have running when the video is made: Because the palace is so large, if its possible to be running a client that has extended view distance, so you can see all the way across. I don't have a recommendation on a texture pack, but I'm using Minecraft enhanced, which I think is one of the best looking packs out there. Tiggy, i can make a video of your snow fort.
